Recently I explored a very unique Persian restaurant in the array of City Walk – Taste of Persia. Yogurt, cheese, radishes and fresh green herbs are all ‘cold’ and are as common on Persian tables as salt and pepper. Was interesting to explore this cuisine.
The ambiance is the most amazing part I would like to highlight. Very funky, quirky and colorful interiors with traditional touch of Persia. Menu is huge and has awesome selections to opt. Dishes gives true reflection of Persia.
We stated with STRAWBERRY & BASIL LEMONADE very refreshing combination of strawberry & basil with right amount of sweetness. HUMMUS tasted very fresh and KASHKO BADENJAN which is mix of eggplant and dried whey, both tasted great.
In mains I tried JOOJEH E MASTI chicken marinated in yogurt and grilled, was very succulent and delicious. LAMB was packed with flavors and very succulent in every bite. The next we tried was GRILLED CHILI LIME PRWAN which didn’t impress me much.
I must say that Taste of Persia is best for the kind and quality of meat they serve. Dessert section has plenty of variety but my pick was ice cream with hint of rose, I thoroughly enjoyed the refreshing taste of it. End your meal with Iranian or Turkish tea.
Persian cuisine has had a remarkable influence on the cooking of many regions, from ancient Rome and Greece to Mogul India, the Muslim world and the Ottoman Empire. Equally it has itself been influenced over the centuries, so that today, despite its alluring exotic air, the cuisine has a warm familiarity.
