Antique Bazaar – located in four points by Sheraton, Bur Dubai is very well known restaurant and it serves Indian cuisine. I genuinely wanted to try this place out since long because being an Indian it was must for me to experience this place. And recently i get to try their Indo Arab Fusion menu they have introduced for the National day of UAE.
The moment you enter the restaurant some old Indian paintings welcome you along with some printed cushion chairs and beautiful carving tables. In every corner they have given an antique look to justify the name. They have managed to accommodate entertainment area where live soothing Sitar is played for patrons. Service is prompt.
We were invited to try their new seasonal Indo Arab fusion menu tasting and started with CHATPATA CHICKEN TIKKA WITH HUMMUS chicken was char coaled and very succulent and the hummus was fresh it tasted good. The other dish was TANDOORI SAMAC LACCHA ALOO it was stuffed potato with some sweet stuffing and cut into wedges, very nice.
I also enjoyed the CHICKEN SHAWARMA KATHI ROLLS the chicken filling was good and the green chutney gave this dish an exquisite flavour. In veg MASALA FALAFEL tasted very nice. Also ZAITOON AND ZATAAR PANEER TIKKA was a great fusion to try. I also tried MAKAI PALAK SAMBOUSIK is has generous filling and tasted good.
In main course the variety is really nice and i tried CHICKEN TANGRI SALONA it tasted simple, i didn’t even find any fusion taste in it but I genuinely enjoyed CHERMOULA JHEENGA MASALA perfectly cooked prawns dipped in green gravy, delectable and both the curries accompanied with ZAATAR NAAN and SUMEK LACCHA PARATHA loved it.
Now desserts, so we tried all three desserts they have in the Indo Arab menu. KHOYA MANGO MAHALABIA with any doubt i am a mahalabia fan and i liked the mango twist in it. LOUQMAT RABRI could have been much better as i was unable to break louqmat. Along with it they served GULAB ALI which was more like hot bread pudding was ok in taste.
Final Verdict – Surely my excitement and expectations were high before entering this restaurant and it was all worth it. Indo Arab fusion is very innovative though to come up with and i simply loved each amd every detailing they tried to give in the dishes. This menu is available between 21 January to 02 December 2016 only at Antique Bazaar.
