Grub shack – Goan cuisine comes from Goa in India. Goan spices and cuisine influenced by foreigner invaders like Portuguese and others. The cuisine mostly consist coconut, seafood, meat, local spices, which makes finger licking dishes. You can enjoy Goan cuisine in Dubai at Grub Shack.

The ambiance is very Goan, it gives a goan feel to it. Jazz music playing in the background gives a very live feel. No fancy chandeliers but simplicity makes Grub shake very cozy. Wooden furniture, wide windows is perfect. Service is prompt, Kulfilicious counter is in one corner.

We started with refreshing drink THUNDER THAI COOLER coconut milk, lemongrass concoction is just perfect, it is a very unique blend. The other one is the best seller of Grub Shack MANGO CHILI this is every guest favorite mock tail, the hint of chili makes it different.

FRIED KINGFISH AND PRAWN IN RECHEDO MASALA is perfect blend of goan tangy and spicy spices, it is must have for spicy food lovers. FIRE CRACKER PRAWNS spicy mayonnaise coated crispy prawns, it is packed with flavors. We also tried the FRIED SQUID, it was crispy and delicious.

In mains I tried GEMMA’S CHILI CRAB whole crab cooked in sweet and spicy, forget table manners and wear your apron, the crab tastes heaven. GOAN FISH CURRY with RICE is perfect curry to enjoy, the spices in curry is very subtle and tastes just perfect with rice.

Grubshack don’t have any dessert menu, they have a counter of Kulfilicious, with full fledge menu. ROYAL KULFI FALOODA with three different types of kulfi along with rabdi, rose syrup, jelly and nuts makes it must have. Don’t miss the MASALA CHAI the presentation is just perfect.

Final Verdict – When it comes to comfort, home style delicious food, Grub shack will be on my list. The food is amazing, service is prompt and beautiful ambiance, Grub shack is place to be.
