Carnival – Lustrous ambiance and modern gastronomy, Carnival is all about this and i was already intrigued to visit for the season 2 menu they have launched recently to keep the guests excited with the new concept items in the menu. This place surely brings back childhood memories with the concept dining theme
Interior is dark yet very charming to make your eyes shine. Every corner is fetching and pleasing. Wise use of mirror on wall along with copper trees and very beautiful bar section. After you are seated the staff welcome you with bubbles and some delectable amuse bouche. The menu is small but very interesting names are listed
The Amuse bouche actually amuse you here as they are serving a beautiful looking pani puri with tangy, spicy pomegranate water. And bombay masala pav, the presentation is so good. I also enjoyed the DAHI BHALLA which they make with nitrogen twist, which is good molecular gastronomy and presentation
Moving ahead we were served with ONTO THE WILD oh, what a presentation, they bring a hot slab near your table and cook prawns and beef on the slab and serve it with burger and garlic chilli oil, loved it. Then WENGER’s is parsi shami kebab served with egg salad, I am sure many meat lovers will love this dish so much
On mains the variety is huge and we were served PIND DA KHANA with sarso ka saag, makke ki roti and butter milk, the taste is very authentic. Also JHINGA LA LA goan shack curry, and rice bread, loved it. AZURMENDI INSPIRED FAMILY PICNIC has picnic style presentation with actual picnic meal, like aloo and poori, amazing
In desserts we tried FRUIT CUSTARD nitrogen cooked fresh fruit custard and berry compote, made live, more like Ice Cream. MILK AND COOKIES is a mawa cake taken out of oven and topped with cinnamon ice cream, little heart cookies caramel and burnt pineapple, loved the presentation as it is unique.
Final Verdict – The concept of carnival is to bring back the childhood memories and flavours on table. For some extent they manage to do that. In every four to six months they keep on changing their menu to bring freshness in the menu. This was season 2 menu and surely there are some hits and misses in terms of food.
