Copperdog – For the first time in Dubai a traditional Scottish restaurant and bar has stepped in. The new concept bar brings traditional Scottish hospitality and heritage to Dubai’s fun filled shores, giving people a real and authentic taste of Scotland’s northern valleys. It provides friendly atmosphere with great whiskey options.

Copper Dog at the Craigellachie Hotel, which has something of a cult status in its homeland, is being completely replicated in the Middle East, at Double Tree by Hilton, JBR. From the granite surface to wooden flooring everything nook and corner has touch of Scottish look. A rustic country pub and eatery at heart.

So the menu is very limited since they have more focus on the bar concept. We started with their signature cocktail SMOKEY AMARETTO SOUR interesting combination of whiskey, cherry liquor and lemon juice, it also has egg in it. The other one is CABERFEITH it is gin based cock tail with lemon and elder flower, very smooth.

We ordered PORTSOY SMOCKED SALMON DILL CREME FRAICHE GUINESS AND TREACLE BREAD finest quality products are used in this dish and you can actually taste it in every bite. The dill cream tasted very nice. Also CHAR GRILLED TIGER PRAWNS GARLIC AND PARSLEY was done beautifully and tasted really delectable.

Moving ahead from mains we tried FISH AND CHIPS, CRUSHED PEAS AND TARTER SAUCE i love fish and chips and this dish was delectable and must for fish and chips lovers, the tarter sauce enhanced the taste. WHOLE GRILLED SEA BASS tasted good but i was expecting more flavors in it, but i am sure it was fresh and full of flavors

In veg option we tried TOMATO AUBERGINE TART GOATS CHEESE CRUMBLE was actually a puff pastry topped with aubergine and tomato and goat cheese, it was very flavor full and delicious. For sides we tried RUMBLE THUMPS it was cheese, potato and veggies and it tasted great also we tried MASHED POTATO and it was divine.

Now the best part and that is dessert STICKY TOFFEE PUDDING WITH PRUNE ICE CREAM sticky pudding served with delicious prune ice cream, loved every bite of it. The other one is CRANACHAN CHEESECAKE again it has alcohol in it but the cheese was divine, creamy and little cheesy cake served with some fresh berry compote, it was heaven.

Final Verdict – Surely Copper Dog is a a new finding for me in the lines of pub and restaurants. I enjoyed this Scottish place, every thing was purely authentic including the interiors. Food is surely limited in the menu but surely you will find something for your taste buds . To unwind yourself, this place is something you should not miss.
