Mexican food has been one of the most popular cuisine in the world. The flavors and preparations are very much inspired with Spanish cuisine. There’s a common perception that Mexican food is both spicy and heavy but, in fact, true Mexican food has both a depth of flavor – with its combination of savory and earthy flavors.
La Tablita serves authentic Mexican food and not only that but the impressive interiors reflects the true tribal Mexican side. Every nook and corner is very colorful and vibrant even the tables has the tribal prints on it. The day i visited it was an interesting Tango dance night was going on, i enjoyed the live vibes around.
We started with GUACAMOLE, the chef himself made it in our table with fresh avocado mixed with chopped onion, tomato, chili and many more, its great to see him making on our table, fresh and delectable. From the soup section we tried CREMA CONDE which is black bean soup with chorizo and avocado, very authentic.
Moving ahead we were served with PRAWN TACO the prawn was more like dynamite preparation with chipotle mayonnaise , i loved it so much, the prawn was cooked to the perfection. Also i was served with QUESO ASADO which is interesting combination of griddled paneer and salsa verde zucchini, interesting combo.
Also the ENCHILADAS VERDES is one of my favorite dish from the evening, with chicken, green tomato sauce and cheese, oh my god what delicious and tangy flavors, loved it. We also tried traditional Mexican TAQUILLA which is served with tomato sangrita, i got much knowledge about the authentic side of this drink, very nice.
I was looking forward for desserts and CHURROS i could not miss, it was served with chocolate sauce and the taste was divine, beautifully presented and tasted great too. TRES LECHES is also a very known and one of my favorite dessert, it is vanilla sponge cake soaked in caramel milk and served with jalapeno ice cream, divine.
Final Verdict – With vibrant interiors and authentic and traditional food, La Tablita has impressed me from all aspect. I went on tango night and enjoyed such wonderful event where everything looked like a celebration. Even if it was a weekday to my surprise the restaurant was fully packed, for Mexican food, this is must visit place.
