You are intrigued to try some places and Zengo is one of those places for me. Impressive Chinese and Asian food selections along with splendid view. It all originated from century old country-style of cooking by northern Japanese fisherman. The skillful Robata chef carefully selects and grills to create a stimulating culinary experience
The interiors reflects the theme beautifully. Decorated in deep rich natural textures and warm tones, the restaurant, lounge and terrace welcome you from the moment you enter. Upon entering a floating staircase awaits to take you up to the restaurant, lounge and terrace. It is very specious with earthy and luxurious touch of interiors
I started with a drink called KIMONO served in martini glass, with cute paper made kimono was attached to it, i loved every sip of it. To pair it we tried CHILI AND GARLIC EDAMAME the flavors were subtle was going great with soy sauce. PAPAYA AND POMELO in cold starts was tangy start, more like papaya salad with lime chili dressing
From maki rolls sections we ordered ANGRY ZENGO with tuna, avocado, cucumber and sriracha sauce, was spicy and flavorful, this is recommended here. From the sashimi section we tried mix of SASHIMI (SHAKE, MAGURO, HAMACHI, SUZUKI AND UNAGI) you can taste the freshness and flavors in every bite, hamachi is my favorite of all.
From the hot starter again we tried SHRIMP CHICKEN GYOZA very flavorful and delectable in taste and they served it with cherry tomato, Thai basil and apple curry sauce. Dim sum is one of their specialty in the menu and i tried CHICKEN SUI MAI they served it piping hot and with some fish caviar on top, beautifully presented and delectable in taste
In mains SPICY CRAB RAMEN, this is my personal favorite, but for your information, it is very spicy but without doubt very delectable, it is yellow spicy curry broth with udon noodles. PRAWNS KUNG PAO with shishito pepper, dry chili, cashew nut and pineapple, very flavorful served with rice. BBQ LAMB RIBS with sesame and lime was good.
Now the dessert section was very interesting we tried PRALUS BIO EQUATEUR it is with dark chocolate pudding, nitrogen dipped honey comb cake, peanut plantain and honey ice cream, this is very delicious and must have. WHITE CHOCOLATE SEMI FREDDO with sudachi lime brioche, spicy peanut brittle & green apple salad, delectable.
Final Verdict – Zengo is Located at Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa, with views overlooking the landscaped gardens and the Arabian Gulf and boasting its own separate entrance with valet parking service, Zengo meaning ‘give and take’ in Japanese, offers you Asian styles and flavors, creating carefully balanced dishes designed for sharing.
