Some restaurants make special place in your heart and same happened with me when i visited Tamba in Abu Dhabi. It was a long drive from Dubai to Abu Dhabi and this long drive was totally worth it for me. I am still thinking about my experience where my taste buds were tantalized and warm hospitality made it really very memorable.
If you are visiting for the first time it will be little difficult to find the exact location, but once you enter inside this beautiful restaurant you are in some other world. Indian theme is presented beautifully here. The copper (Tamba in Hindi) color is infused beautifully in very contemporary style, hospitality is really very impressive.
We started with some refreshing drinks i chose one of there signature cocktail KIPLING’S TRIBUTE mix of gin, chambord, berry puree, kafir lime leaf and Indian soda, this is must have if you are here. A very beautiful looking and very refreshing mock tail was 126 BC very delicate mix of peach, rose, lemon and cinammon soda, superb.
Now our delicious food journey started with MANGLORIAN CHICKEN DOSA, delicious is the word. Then KING CRAB PURI had less taste of crab but i just loved this one. SPICY TUNA, AVACADO, CHUR MURI with deconstructed egg yolk on top was just wow, perfect Indian spicy with tangy hints in between.
After above spicy treat to balance it from salad section WATERMELON, ARUGULA, TOMATO CHUTNEY AND CHEESE SNOW is a must have dish, everythng was so fresh and delicious. Very interesting dish i tried was SWEET AND SOUR PUMPKIN, SPINACH PARATHA it was served with tomato salsa, must have here.
The best fusion i had here in a dish called BOMBAY BHAJI ROLLS, CREAMY AAMPANNA pasta sheet filled with bombay bhaji and tossed in white sauce along with vegetables, what delectable tastes tossed together, simply amazing. GRILLED CHILEAN SEABASS, HARRA PESTO just melted in my mouth, perfect and must have here.
Moving towards main course SMOKED CHICKEN, TOMATO GRAVY, BLACK PEPPER BURRATA it is very similar to butter chicken masala, but the chicken was very soft, to accompany it KASHMIRI NAAN and PINEAPPLE MIRCHI PARATHA was served, perfect. CRISPY SPINACH SESAME SIMMERED YOGURT has very refreshing taste.
Desserts part was much joyful as they have linked a very interesting story by the names from the menu. We started from the end of the story which is THE BREAKUP chocolate coated ball filled with peanut, caramel and cream, they literally break the chocolate ball infront of you and put chocolate sauce on top, just delicious.
The other dessert was MUMTAZ, beautifully bombay halwa pancake filled with strawberry cream, it tasted very Indian and perfect in the sweet level. The other one was STICKY SITUATION banana caramelized toffee cake block served with cardamom ice cream, very innovative desserts i must say, all of them tasted simply amazing.
Final Verdict – I can not also forget to mention that the royal family of Abu Dhabi was also dining while we were enjoying our feast at Tamba. They say they serve Indian food, but in all the dishes its not just Indian but lot of brilliant fusion is done well. I am surely recommending this place to all the food lovers, don’t miss this place.
