Chawlas2 – JLT is a very known area in Dubai, it is also a hub for food, many restaurants with different cuisines are located here. I loved the fact that in every cluster you have something to try out when it comes to restaurants. Chawlas2 is restaurant serves Indian Punjabi food and they are having around 150 outlets all over the world.
When you enter the restaurant you will find contemporary interiors and small ambiance, they have outside seating as well and the view from outside is very beautiful as they have lake view. Service is very prompt and the staff is very polite as well. The menu off course has many Punjabi food items to go for, menu is made very beautifully and easy.
Since it was a tasting session, we were hosted by the owner and staff with so many dishes for non-vegetarians and vegetarians both, so here is my Punjabi food journey experience
In a very desi Punjabi style we started with thick and creamy SWEET LASSI. In starters CHICKEN MALAI TIKKA and CHICKEN LASOONI TIKKA were succulent and delicious, FISH IRANI tasted delicious and for spicy lovers PESHAWARI TIKKA is a must, and for vegetarians HARIYALI PANEER and STUFFED TANDOORI ALOO was something should not be missed.
In main course we were mesmerized with flavors of CREAM CHICKEN this is their signature dish and this should not be missed, apart from this TOMATO CREAM PANEER for vegetarians is a must have. MUSHROOM TAKATAK was an interesting preparation just like name. CHANA MASALA had very homemade and simple taste, DAAL MAKHANI was delicious.
Now my favorite part is desserts we had cold KESARI KHEER it was very simple and flavors of saffron was very strong. The other one as HOT GULAB JAMUN I guess I would have enjoyed it in winters more, but the jamuns were fresh and soft, the other one was MOONG DAAL HALWA this is one of my favorite desserts of all time, and I simply loved it.
Final Verdict – I am very much delighted that I was part of this tasteful tasting session, where I tried some of their signature dishes. To accompany the main course, we were served with ROOMALI ROTI and ASSORTED BREADS, all of them were tasting great with the gravies. If you are craving for Punjabi food in Dubai, Chawlas2 is highly recommended.
